How I Build Kingdom Legacy Through Business

When I stepped away from the International Finance Corporation, I didn’t step away from work. I stepped into a different kind of work — one that integrates faith, family, and entrepreneurship in ways I never imagined.

When I stepped away from the International Finance Corporation, I didn’t step away from work. I stepped into a different kind of work — one that integrates faith, family, and entrepreneurship in ways I never imagined.

Today, I am the Co-Founder and Co-Managing Director of Blu Osprey Inc., a manufacturing company in Athi River, Kenya, that produces high-quality fruit net packaging sold under the brand Msafi Net. And while it may seem like a “secular” endeavor, I see it as Kingdom work.

Because faith is not confined to the church. It belongs in the factory too.

The Marketplace as Mission Field

For too long, we’ve divided life into “sacred” and “secular” categories. But the truth is, all of life is sacred when it’s surrendered to God.

Colossians 3:23-24 says:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Blu Osprey is not separate from my ministry. It is my ministry. It’s where I practice stewardship, integrity, generosity, and faith in action every single day.

From Finance to Manufacturing: A God-Ordained Pivot

People often ask me: “How did a CPA with a background in finance and risk management end up in manufacturing?”

The short answer? Obedience.

The longer answer? God uses every season of our lives to prepare us for what’s next. My nearly decade-long experience in upstream finance, SME banking, and digital financial services at the IFC wasn’t wasted. It prepared me to:

  • Understand financial risk and cash flow management

  • Navigate the complexities of building an SME in Kenya

  • Think strategically about business sustainability

  • Apply financial discipline to operations

But more than that, it taught me that expertise without obedience is empty. I could have stayed in global finance forever. But God called me to build something tangible, something local, something that would create jobs and serve Kenyan farmers.

And so, with my husband, I stepped into the world of manufacturing.

How I Build Kingdom Legacy in Business

1. Stewardship Over Ownership
I don’t own Blu Osprey — God does. My husband and I are stewards. That means we manage it according to His principles, not just profit margins.

2. Integrity in Every Transaction
Honesty, fairness, and transparency are non-negotiables. My reputation matters, but God’s glory matters more. Every business decision is made with eternity in mind.

3. Generosity as a Lifestyle
Success isn’t measured by what I accumulate, but by what I give. We sow into Kingdom work, support our employees’ families, and bless our community in Athi River.

4. Family Partnership
I work alongside my husband. This isn’t just a business — it’s a family legacy rooted in faith. We pray together, strategize together, and build together.

5. Prayer as Foundation
Every decision, every challenge, every victory is covered in prayer. I depend on God’s wisdom, not my MBA or CPA. He is the CEO.

The Tension Between Profit and Purpose

Let’s be honest — running a manufacturing business in Kenya is hard. There are supply chain challenges, financial pressures, regulatory hurdles, and moments of doubt.

But I’ve learned that when I prioritize God’s Kingdom, He takes care of the rest.

Matthew 6:33 reminds me:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

I don’t have to choose between faith and business success. I can have both — when I keep God at the center.
